After reading "So Nervous" a few minutes ago, I just started wondering,
How many of us brought/bring or will bring our dolls to college with us?
Although I didn't start indulging in AG until this past year, I brought my Madame Alexanders with me to college my junior and senior years for so many reasons but mostly because having them there just made my room feel like "home."
I changed dolls at Winter break so that it was like a rotating display. Having them there was such a comfort when I felt homesick!
I was just wondering if anyone else has a similar experience with AG (or other dolls too)? If I'd had an AG back in college, I guarantee she'd have been with me :-)

I confess that my college days are sadly behind me, but now that I am in the working world, I have little Coconut sitting on my desk, right next to my computer. He makes me smile. I change his costumes every month. This month he is dressed in the life-preserver outfit-which happened to be a very good thing. We are in a skyscraper, but the balcony above us was having construction done when a major rainstorm hit and water came pouring into our offices on the 35th floor! Coconut was already prepared! (Now, what shall he wear next month? hmmm....)

I plan to bring Molly just because she'll make my dorm feel like home.

I always had at least one AG in my dorm with me. I'd trade them out when I went home. It was really nice to have them around. Sometimes I had some of their things with me because mom would order me things for my birthday and have them sent there. I had Kit's entire bedroom set there for a bit. I never had any trouble.
I also took Samantha along when I did the Walt Disney World college program.

Well, my sister in law has apparently been threatening to take my dolls and send them back to me piece-by-piece mafia style. So, I'll be trying to fit dolls into my luggage once my necessities are packed. I didn't take any dolls with me to college at first, just to get an idea of what being in the dorms were like, but then I started limiting myself to two dolls in the dorms.

I'm not at a dorm, or I'd definitely bring a couple with me. I think I'd take Samantha, No?lle, Misty, and rotate some out each time I went home, and hope that my roomate didn't notice I was bringing different ones back, lol.
As is I'm still at home, and can have them all here. And that's where they belong, as Katie said, I'd just feel weird without them around, and I'd hate to think of them in storage somewhere.
In the past, I have been silly enough to shove a mini doll into my bag/purse with me on the first day of a new semester, or days I have big tests, or other important days. I have no real connection to the newer ones, but it's nice to catch a glimpse of mini Samantha smiling at me, and think of real Samantha at home. It's almost embarassing that it's a comforting feeling.
AngieBelle, I'm sending you a PM

My college years were before most of our members were born. However, I did bring my all time best friend and confidante with me. Bright Eyes may be the only Schuco chimp with an M.A. in English Lit! I couldn't possibly have gone away and left him home. I still bring him along with me for Christmas so he can say hi to Santa -- they are old friends.

I didn't bring an AG with me freshman year because I only had Felicity then and didn't want anything happening to her. Last (school) year I bought Kirsten and then Kaya and Sam (my mom's doll) followed. This year I brought Kirsten back. I love having an AG with me to keep me company!

I started collecting while I was in college, so they were always there. There was a short time I had to do a clinical rotation in Kalamazoo and had to stay in the nurses dorms. It was a very small space, and only Addy came with me then.
